Bright drawn square bar in engineering steel grades — 3mm to 150mm. Precise square section for keys, gibs, couplings and machined components requiring a square profile. Metric and imperial sizes in stock.

Square bar is bright drawn to a square cross-section with precise side dimensions to h9, h10 or h11 tolerance. The square profile is used where a square cross-section is required either by design (keys, gibs) or as a convenient starting form for machined components that retain square external faces.
Woodruff and parallel keys are the most common application — the square bar is cut to length and milled to key form. Square bar is also used for drive couplings, spacers, guides and any component requiring a square profile that would otherwise need to be milled from flat or round bar.
