Overview

Material Description.

080A15 is a general-purpose low carbon mild steel. Readily weldable. Generally used where heavy stresses and heat treatment are not involved.

Very commonly available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and is a go-to grade for many machined and mechanical components across general engineering, fabrication and maintenance applications.

080A15 is similar to, and often readily substituted for, the related mild steel grades 080M15 and 070M20 (EN3B). This grade does not require mechanical properties as part of the specification — where supplied as a crossover to 080M15 or 070M20 it is generally denoted To Analysis Only. Many producers will however include mechanical properties as a matter of course, which may allow a full match to 080M15 or 070M20. Please inform your sales contact at time of enquiry if clarification is needed.

Key Benefits

Why Specify 080A15.
