We have been supplying engineering steel bar since 1977. A lot has changed since then — our size, our range, our fleet, our facility. One thing has not: every order matters, and every customer gets the same level of service regardless of how much they buy.
We are a growing business. But no matter how big we get, we believe every order matters — whether it is one piece or a full load.
Parkside Steel was founded in London in 1977. Over the decades the business has grown steadily — in range, in capacity, in reach — relocating to our Nottinghamshire base in 2006 and expanding again with a new 60,000 sq ft warehouse in recent years.
Today we operate from Sherwood Park, Annesley, at the heart of the UK's motorway network. We stock 20+ grades across five profiles, run 13 saws on site, and deliver on our own fleet of vehicles as well as through specialist carrier partners. But we have never lost sight of where we started: as a business built on doing right by every customer, every time.
A one-piece order gets the same care as a full artic load. A new customer calling for the first time gets the same advice as a long-standing account. That is not a marketing line — it is just how we work.
Parkside Steel (Stockholders) Ltd was incorporated on 15 August 1977 and began trading in London. The business was built on a simple proposition: hold the right engineering steel grades in stock, cut to the length the customer needs, and get it there when they need it. That proposition has not changed in 49 years.
Through the 1980s and 1990s the business grew its range of engineering grades and its customer base. Investing in sawing capability early gave us the ability to offer cut-to-length service that many competitors were not providing at the time — turning a stockholder into a genuine service operation.
In 2006, Parkside Steel relocated to Nottinghamshire — positioning the business at Junction 27 of the M1, at the geographic centre of England's motorway network. This move gave us direct access to every major industrial region in the UK and the space to significantly expand our stock holding and sawing capacity. It was the foundation for the business we are today.
The 2010s saw sustained investment across the business — expanding the fleet of delivery vehicles, adding grades and size ranges to the stock list, and investing in additional saws to reduce lead times. The introduction of the TSUNE high-speed circular saw was a step change in cutting capability for high-volume bulk orders.
Parkside acquired an additional 60,000 sq ft unit at Sherwood Park, allowing us to increase both our product range and the processes we can offer across both sites. The same year we added new Renault vehicles to the fleet and launched dedicated delivery runs to the North West — covering Stoke, Manchester, Leeds and surrounding areas.
A site move in early 2025 marked the next chapter. After a demanding transition, we entered 2026 fully settled at our new Sherwood Park facility with more saws, more vehicles, more grades and sizes, and lead times and output at their best ever levels. The business is in the strongest position it has ever been — and still growing.
We begin 2026 with 13 saws running, a growing fleet, and a stock range that covers everything from 3mm bright bar to 600mm diameter black round. 2–3 day cutting and next-day picking. Delivering daily across the UK. And still answering the phone when a customer has a problem.
These are not values we wrote for a website. They are the things that have kept customers coming back for decades.
A single piece of 25mm EN8 gets the same attention as a full artic load of 300mm black round. No order is too small to care about. Whether you are a one-man machine shop or a major engineering contractor, you will speak to someone who knows their steel and wants to help.
We do not list grades we cannot supply. We hold real stock across 20+ grades in five profiles, from 3mm bright round to 600mm black round, in both metric and imperial. If we have it listed, we have it. If we have run out, we will tell you and give you an honest lead time.
Our sales team commits to delivery dates that the warehouse can meet. That means 2–3 days for cut-to-length work, next-day picking on stock lines, and same-day collection at the gate. When something changes, we pick up the phone first rather than waiting for you to chase us.
Every year we put money back into the business. New saws, new vehicles, more warehouse space, more grades. Not because we have to, but because standing still in this industry means going backwards. Our customers need us to keep up with their demands — and we do.
Our sales team understands engineering steel grades — not just the catalogue. They can help you choose between EN8 and EN19 for a specific application, explain what a 3.1 cert means, and advise on which tolerance class suits your machining process. Technical knowledge is part of the service.
Our own flatbed fleet covers the East Midlands and beyond. Our specialist carrier partners cover the rest of the UK mainland. Next day is available on the vast majority of stocked lines. We do not tell customers we cannot deliver to their postcode — we find a way.
A few things we have said on LinkedIn that sum up where we are and how we think.
We've been quiet… on LinkedIn. The team have been hard at work making sure we get our customers what they need when they need it.
We enter 2026 fully settled at our new site and lead times & output have never been better.

📦 No Order Too Small at Parkside Steel
At Parkside Steel, we believe every order matters — no matter the size.
Whether you need one piece of 25mm bright bar or a full load of 300mm black round, you get the same response, the same care, and the same service. That is just how we work.
New Warehouse — We are getting bigger and better.
Parkside Steel has acquired a 60,000 sq ft unit just round the corner from our current site. Utilising both sites will allow us to increase our range of not only products but processes.
So whatever your requirements — Engineering Steels, General Steels, or Tool Steels — we are your one stop shop each and every time.
Little Changes = Big Improvements
We recently installed a new outfeed table to our high-speed TSUNE saw. This allows us to offer reduced lead times on bulk orders for longer pieces.
We are already putting it to good use. If you have any cutting requirements or are being quoted lead times that don’t suit your business needs — please get in touch.
We have never been a business that stands still. Since the move to Nottinghamshire in 2006, we have invested consistently and deliberately — in machinery, in vehicles, in warehouse space, in people.
That investment is not about growth for its own sake. It is about being able to say yes when a customer needs something. A wider range means fewer times we have to tell someone we do not stock their grade. More saws means faster turnaround. More vehicles means fewer delivery promises we cannot keep.
We are a growing business. We are proud of that. But the measure we care about is not the size of our fleet or the square footage of our warehouse — it is whether the customer who called us this morning gets exactly what they needed by the time they needed it.
That is what we are building towards. Every order, every day.
Acquired in 2024, expanding both product range and processing capability across two Sherwood Park sites.
