The Move, Done Properly

Moving a steel stockholding operation is not like moving an office. Thousands of tonnes of bar across 20+ grades, full cantilever racking, thirteen saws, overhead cranes, loading bays and a delivery fleet all have to keep working while everything around them is picked up and put down somewhere else. We did that at the start of 2025 — and we did it while continuing to cut and deliver for our customers every week.

It was demanding. There were weeks where the team worked around half-built racking and saws being recommissioned. We said at the time that the disruption would be worth it, and twelve months on we can say it plainly: it was.

Where Things Stand Today

Everything is now under one roof at Byron House, Sherwood Park, Annesley — five minutes from Junction 27 of the M1, at the geographic centre of England's motorway network.

Operating from a single location is a deliberate choice. Our stock is where our saws are, our saws are where our loading bays are, and our loading bays are where our vehicles are. No inter-site transfers, no waiting for material to arrive from another depot — which is a large part of why lead times and output are at their best ever levels.

What Got Better in 2025

More Cutting Capacity

Thirteen saws now run on site — twelve band saws including RONTGEN machines that cut up to 600mm diameter, plus our TSUNE high-speed circular saw for fast, repeatable production cutting. Multiple jobs run simultaneously, so volume spikes do not turn into lead-time slips. Read more about our cut-to-length service.

More Vehicles on the Road

Our own fleet of flatbed vehicles covers the East Midlands, Yorkshire, the North West, the West Midlands and East Anglia several times a week, with trusted carrier partners providing next-day delivery everywhere else in mainland UK. Details on the delivery fleet page.

More Grades and Sizes

The range keeps widening. Alongside the core bright and black engineering grades — EN8, EN19, EN24T, EN1A and the rest — we now stock continuous cast iron bar in grey and ductile (SG) grades from 25mm to 400mm diameter, and bright drawn equal angle in 15 standard sizes. Browse the full range on our products page.

The headline: same company, same people, same one-piece-minimum service — now with the space, machinery and stock depth to do it faster and across a wider range than at any point in our history since 1977.

What We Are Working On Next

Settling in is not the finish line. Through 2026 we are continuing to deepen stock across the size ranges customers ask for most, adding to the technical resources on this site — the weight calculator, grade selector and technical library — and keeping our promise on response times: quotes confirmed on the same call wherever possible.

If you have not used us before, this is a good year to try. One piece cut to length, or a full load — the same response, the same care, the same service.

Tell us your grade, profile, size and quantity — we confirm stock, price and delivery date on the same call.
