Continuous cast iron bar in grey iron and ductile (SG / nodular) iron grades — EN-GJL-250, EN-GJS-400C, EN-GJS-500C and EN-GJS-600C. All grades stocked 25mm to 400mm diameter, cut to any length from one piece. Bar-end colour code: orange.
Cast iron bar is produced by continuous casting, drawing molten iron through a water-cooled die to give a dense, sound, close-grained bar that machines cleanly with an excellent surface finish. Parkside stocks two families: grey iron, where carbon forms graphite flakes, and ductile (SG / nodular) iron, where the graphite forms spheroidal nodules.
The difference matters. Grey iron (EN-GJL-250) gives outstanding machinability and vibration damping but little ductility. Ductile iron (EN-GJS grades) keeps good machinability while adding high tensile strength, impact toughness and elongation — bridging the gap between cast iron and cast steel.
Cut to any length from 1 piece — −0/+2mm standard cut tolerance — EN 10204 2.2 and 3.1 certificates available. Grade equivalents ›
